Our History

Rally challenges traditional growth and development by championing and centering local communities in our pursuit of a culturally resilient and economically integrated Austin. Through Resolution No. 20201001-055, Austin City Council approved the legal documents needed for the creation of the Austin Economic Development Corporation (now Rally Austin). Statutorily established under Chapter 431 Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 394 Texas Local Government Code and the Texas Nonprofit Corporation Law, the corporation is organized for the purpose of aiding and acting on behalf of the City in the performance of the City’s governmental functions to accomplish any governmental purpose of the City.
